Well…its finally arrived todays the day we begin our trek.

OMG – my ruck sack weighs a ton – what the hell am I doing!

…but look at the shine on those boots.

To get to our starting point of St Jean de Pied de Port (SJDP) at the foot of the Pyrenees, we will travel to Dover, catch a Ferry, Train to Paris then overnight train to Bayonne in France then transfer to SJDP.

Just an hour or so before my four pilgrim buddies turn up (Unless they see sense and bale out at the last minute)

(Did you know…The shell on my ruck sack is a symbol of the pilgrimage to Santiago…the groves on the shell represents paths starting from across Europe ending up at the same point in Santiago Spain)
