An interesting and somewhat noisy nights sleep…Note to self … In future must remember ear plugs to dampen down the snoring ( Oh the joys of communal living!)

It was fantastic to be back on the Camino proper today. We enjoyed some outstanding scenery as we trekked up the ‘Monjardin” peak.
We met two super Aussies..Christine and Gillian who were … according to them ‘on the-run’ (from what we don’t know, I was too polite to ask).
With spectacular panoramic vistas and warm sun we passed through some very picturesc villages and an ancient gothic fountain ‘Fuentes de Los Moros’ (fountain of the Moores) ..where many thousands of pilgrims must have bathed their weary feet.
After a short break and ‘cafe con leche, (coffee with milk) we wound our way through the rolling Rioja vineyards, en route to Los Arcos.
At the square in Los Arcos we enjoyed mixed salad and a few glasses of Rioja. Then the big debate…should we carry on to the next village and knock of a few more Km as Sunday was going to be a big 30km day?
In good company with our new found friends, fellow pilgrims and a bottle or two later we finally succumbed and settled in for the night.
After dinner, there was much friendly banter and sharing of personal photos from back home ( including debating such important issues as Geoffs overweight cat…he tried unsuccessfully to convince the gathered audience that George the cat was NOT fat…just ‘big boned!

Also, great fun and very entertaining watching Christine and Gillian make mincemeat of Richard …he has certainly met his batch with these two fysty woman.
