It was dry as we left Astorga at 7:30 am. Ahead of us a winding track lined with Conifers and European Oak. The morning mist appeared as we climbed to 1400m towards our final destination of Foncebadon.
A fairly non eventful day all in all, with great anticipation for tomorrow morning when we will climb to the highest point of our 650 mile journey Camino – ‘Cruz de Ferro’ ( the cross of iron )
I met Yungi , a Korean guy who worked in Uzbekistan manufacturing gas cylinders – he was on the Camino to try and discover his future career path . His family were back in Korea.
We completed another 30Km today and it concluded with a communal supper with our fellow pilgrims.
We met Jim and Shamus, two super guys from Ireland who were retired.
Looks amazing chaps, hope all goes well. Not sure about John’s coat though 🙂 Is that in case he gets lost?
Chris Merry would probably like that when you get back!
Take care
