imageStepping back onto Spanish soil for the start of our second Camino adventure felt wonderful.

The ‘Via de la Plata’ route begins in Andalucia ‘the land of light’ and is said to be the second most popular route for pilgrims after the ‘Route Frances’ (the French Way) the penultimate leg of which we completed in October last year.

On Sunday we begin the 1000Km journey from here in Seville , north west towards Santigo where the body of the apostle St James is buried,

Today we were tourists enjoying our final moments of relative luxury staying in a very typical Spanish Hotel, taking in the sights and sounds of Seville.

At around 30 degrees C the prospect of walking 8 hours a day feels a little daunting, as tomorrow we wake up as true pilgrims when our real journey begins.
